I am very pleased to be able to cook with six Year 5 children every Friday morning in school. I have attended training on behalf of the school and always ensure the recipes are healthy and easy for you to make at home with your children, should you wish to do so.
If your child cooks with me I send the recipe home for you along with what they have made.
We use some of the lovely things we grow in our garden and of course the eggs from our chickens!
I hope the children will have fun and also learn some valuable skills in the process.

Group 2 : Potato and Sweetcorn Fritters
The children enjoyed making these and everyone wanted to eat them after they smelt them cooking, hopefully some of them got home for the parents to share!
Group 2: Apple and Mincemeat Puff Pastry Parcels
Our room smelt like Christmas today when we made these. We practiced peeling and chopping the apples and rolling out pastry. We also learnt how to seal the pastry so that our filling didn't seep out.
I was so proud of the cooking group today as they worked so hard on their snowman biscuits and they turned out fabulously! Mrs Rickersey said they could have entered the Bake Off with the results!
We learnt icing skills and also how to rub butter in to make crumbs. The biscuits tasted delicious too!
Week 4: Mini Tortilla Quiches
After the Christmas break we had lots of eggs from our chickens so I decided we could make this recipe. It was quite tricky with some exploding eggs and torn tortillas along the way but we got there in the end and the result was delicious!
