Each and every one of your children are a valuable part of our school family group, and they all have individual traits that make them special. We have mathematicians, artists, budding sports stars, future politicians and the odd comedy act now and then. We have children who enthral with their creativity in story writing and others who hold an audience captive through performance arts or through their musical ability. There are those who get lost in a book, those who observe and watch, and those who step forward and help to organise. We have House Captains, a Head boy and Head girl and our wonderful Sports Crew, who are amazing with our younger children. They all (in their own way) show engagement and commitment not just to their own learning but also to our school community in general.
Please ensure that kits are in school all week. As you know our PE kit consists of black shorts, white t-shirt and a suitable warm jumper or tracksuit bottoms for if the weather is cooler.
Homework is sent home on a Friday and is expected back in school by Wednesday. Each week there will be some spellings, an expectation to practice tables and a piece of English and Maths. In addition, I cannot stress enough the importance of maintaining good reading habits. Children who regularly read quality texts often use what they have read to enhance their own writing skills.
