Year 3

Welcome to Year 3!

Our class motto is: "Be the best you can be!"

Welcome to Year 3! I'm Mrs Ripley, class teacher, and working with me everyday is Mrs Hartshorn, teaching assistant. Together we want to make sure every child gets the absolute best out of their time with us.

Every day counts and every session is important! We'll be having lots of fun along the way too! smiley

On our class page you'll find up-to-date information, photographs of our experiences and copies of homework. Keep checking in to see what's new.

We also have a Twitter page that we'll post updates on too.  @3_wynndale is our Twitter address so please follow us!

In Year 3, we have a real focus on Times Tables. It is really important that the children know their times tables as it can really support their learning in lots of areas of the Maths curriculum. It is expected that they know all of the multiplication and division facts up to 12 x 12 by the end of year 4.

Each week, we will have a times tables test which also incorporates the corresponding division facts. The children need to achieve 100% before they move onto to the next number. The sequence is as follows:

x10 x2 x5 x4 x3 x6 x8 x7 x9 x11 x12

Using websites and iPads if you have them is a really good way to inspire the children to learn their times tables so we have put a few web addresses below to help you:

Children will also be working through the Times Tables Challenges with Mrs Hartshorn each week. They will bring home certificates when they have achieved each challenge.
