A warm welcome to Wynndale from our Head Boy and Head Girl

Our role as Head Boy and Head Girl is to support our school and teachers in any way possible. We help Mrs Rickersey (our Head Teacher) by showing new pupils, parents or special visitors around our delightful school.

Our Wynndale rules, known as ‘The Wynndale Way’ are: Be Ready, be Respectful, be Safe, Be Kind’. We promote these values in everything we do in school. If your child follows the Wynndale Way consistently, they may receive house points or an invitation to our special ‘Hot Chocolate Friday’ celebration, to celebrate their amazing attitude to learning or fantastic work, generously provided by our lovely Head Teacher.

Along with our teaching group, we also have our amazing parent group. They help fundraise and organise events and activities, such as school discos, WynnFest (Our Summer extravaganza) and our Mother's Day and Father's Day events. 

Wynndale is an incredible school, and is a place where we work hard to achieve our goals and learn new things. All children across school undertake a range of interesting topics, which help them to develop their knowledge and skills over time. For example, in Year 5 we learn about the ancient Greeks, and in Year 6 we take a historical trip to The Holocaust Centre. These topics vary every year. We also learn plenty of Maths, Science and English to help us be prepared for each next step in our learning journey.

We also have a whole school ‘house’ system. Every child is assigned to a house and can earn house points for their team. We have the amazing Blue Unicorns, the fabulous Green Dragons, the astonishing Yellow Griffins, and the incredible Red Phoenixes. Each of the houses has two Y6 House Captains, who are appointed each year. House points can be earned through having high standards, following the Wynndale Way and going above and beyond in your learning. Linking to house points, we have the 'House Point Shop', where the House Captains help to sell items in exchange for house points. This supports pupils understanding of financial well-being - as they have to decide whether to save or spend their points!

Our school also offers a Breakfast Club, where staff will look after your children from 7:45am. We also offer an after-school club until 6:00pm, providing lots of fun things to keep your child entertained. Last year we also introduced our own holiday club too, run by Mrs. Taylor, our Pastoral Lead. During school time, we have the new tuck shop, run by our kitchen staff and three Y6 pupil leaders. They serve snacks such as pizza muffins, toast, raisins and fresh fruit, as well as fruit juice and flavoured milk. On a Friday, the tuck shop sells sausage and bacon sandwiches on alternate weeks.
