Extra Curricular Opportunities
At Wynndale, we pride ourselves on providing a rich and varied programme of extra-curricular opportunities that inspire, engage, and challenge our pupils beyond the classroom. Each half term, we create a 'menu' to offer a wide range of after-school clubs designed to reflect the diverse interests and talents of our children, ensuring that every pupil has the opportunity to discover new passions and develop existing skills.
Sport plays a key role in our provision, and every half term we run three after school sports clubs tailored to different year groups. These sessions are led by Mr. Brookes, who provides high-quality coaching and encourages children to develop teamwork, resilience, and a love of physical activity.
In addition to sports, our school staff lead a variety of clubs throughout the year. These include activities such as yoga, science club, computing and coding, art, book club, running club, Pokémon club, dance, mindful colouring, construction club, and TT Rockstars club. This broad offer ensures there is something for everyone, helping to nurture creativity, curiosity, and well-being.
We are also committed to enriching our curriculum through partnerships with external organisations. For example, this year we have worked with West Nottinghamshire College to deliver an exciting Engineering Club, giving children the opportunity to explore practical STEM experiences. We look forward to building on this successful partnership in the future.
Music is another important aspect of our extra-curricular life. Our school choir meets weekly after school to rehearse for their annual Young Voices performance, as well as preparing for a variety of concerts and musical events throughout the year. We also work closely with 'Rocksteady Music', enabling a number of pupils to access high-quality music tuition each week. This is in addition to the weekly music lessons that take place with Mr. Stanton, that all children access across school as part of our curriculum offer.
Through our extra-curricular programme, we aim to broaden horizons, build confidence, and create meaningful experiences that our children will carry with them long after they leave Wynndale.
