Welcome to Year 2!

Welcome to Year 2! We are delighted to welcome you to a year full of exciting learning, creativity and discovery with Miss Marsh and Mrs Barson. Throughout the year, our topics will take us on a journey through time and around the world. In the autumn term, we explore the Great Fire of London, bringing history to life through our writing, alongside enjoying bonfire poetry and traditional tales such as The Princess and the Pea. In the spring term, we travel to Africa, using Augustus and His Smile to inspire our writing before creating our own informative leaflets based on our geography learning. In the summer term, we head to the Polar regions, where we explore the story Lost and Found and use our non-fiction text Penguins and Antarctica to create our own journal articles. In maths, we develop confidence in numbers, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as exploring shapes and beginning to understand fractions. We look forward to a wonderful year of learning, growth, and achievement together!
